The Washburn Family

“Left to right is my Aunt Henrietta Washburn. She was the eldest of Louis Cope Washburn’s children. Aunt Helen was the second child and quite a force of nature! Her birthday was April Fool’s Day, a day we always remember her on. Of course my great-grandfather is to the right. My great-grandmother was older than my great-grandfather by about 6 years and was deceased by the time this picture was taken. Aunt Henrietta was also quite involved in Neighborhood House, although the driving force was Aunt Helen. My grandfather, Louis Mumford Washburn, was the youngest. Having young children of his own, his work at the church was as a vestryman.”
