Sexton’s House

The small corner building which now forms the northernmost end of Neighborhood House was built in the early 1930s as a residence and offices for the social worker possibly even Helen Washburn.

In later years it became the home of sexton and verger, Harvey Mertz. Harvey died in 1972 and music director and organist, John Binsfeld, occupied the apartment until 2009.
