Washburn"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Washburn was instrumental in the founding of the East Central Social Agency in 1932 which coordinated relief efforts for the area reaching from Delaware Avenue to Broad Street, and Market Street north to Girard Avenue.\u00a0He also served as vice president of the Episcopal City Mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During WW I he served as a chaplain at Camp Meade.\u00a0While chairman of the Diocesan Committee on war work he put together, <em>A Prayer Book For The Public And Private Use Of Our Soldiers And Sailors<\/em> as well as a <em>Hymnal for the Public and Private use of Our Soldiers and\u00a0Sailors<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Washburn retired as rector of Christ Church in 1937.
