Description
Gilbert Tennent (1703-1764) was an Irish-American Presbyterian clergyman, and one of the leaders of the Great Awakening.
Tennent wrote this sermon on Galatians 4:4-5, "But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons."
From dates noted in the manuscript, it looks like Tennent wrote this sermon in 1745, then delivered it again in 1747, 1749, 1752, and 1760.
